We're Reducing Our Carbon Footprint by Planting Trees!

As a company that loves nature and takes sustainability seriously, we are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. In the past year, we’ve made some changes to our packaging procedures such as scrapping plastic where possible or even using organic fibers on every plant we package to help keep soil in place! Logistically, these changes don’t always come easy, but it is our commitment to keep searching for better, eco-friendly ideas and solutions. Which brings us to our latest initiative – in our efforts to help the global fight against climate change, we will be planting trees to offset our carbon emissions while aiding in global reforestation on every single order moving forward!

What kind of trees?

Mangrove trees! One of the key benefits of reforestation is that trees are extremely efficient at carbon sequestration and one of the most effective tools in the fight against Greenhouse Gases that contribute to climate change and global warming. Trees convert the carbon dioxide into plant matter, holding this material for the life of the tree and beyond! Mangroves are one of the most effective and economic methods of offsetting carbon emissions, thus making a massive impact! In 2019, a NASA-led study found that Mangrove forests move carbon dioxide from the atmosphere into long-term plant matter storage in greater quantities than any other forests.

Where will the trees be planted?

The Mangrove trees will be planted in a plot of land on the northwestern coast of Madagascar. This plot of land can hold up to 33 million trees! The trees we plant here together, alongside reducing carbon emissions, will also aid in creating jobs from low-income individuals in the area.

Change can’t happen overnight, but together we can take small steps to help ensure a brighter, greener future for our planet. We’re excited to start making an impact together, one tree at a time 🌱 💚
